Freedom Hall

Based at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville, Freedom Hall is a multi-faceted arena known mostly for hosting college and professional basketball games. Both the University of Louisville men’s and women’s basketball team play their home games at Freedom Hall while the Kentucky Colonels of the old American Basketball Association did so from 1970 until 1976. Louisville Zoo

Mammoth Cave National Park

Mammoth Cave National Park is, in a word, mammoth. It covers nearly 53,000 acres and features more than 360 miles of passageways, making it the world’s longest cave system. In 1941, it received its national park status and forty years later it was honored as a World Heritage Site. A decade after that, it became an international biosphere reserve. Bluegrass Motorcycle Museum

Motorcycle aficionados will want to check out the Bluegrass Motorcycle Museum in Hartford, Kentucky, which is not far from Bowling Green. There are more than 20 vintage American-made motorcycles on display plus tons of motorcycle memorabilia. One of the highlights is the oldest bike in the museum, a 1911 Yale featuring a tandem seat along with the original paint designs. [top]

National Corvette Museum and Plant

Those who appreciate the Chevrolet Corvette, a classic American sports car that’s been around since the early 1950s, won’t want to miss the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The museum, which opened in 1994, is just one-quarter mile from the Bowling Green Assembly Plant. This is the place where Corvettes have been built for the past three decades.
