Lake Charles

Rural Life Museum

Situated on the LSU campus in Baton Rouge, the Rural Life Museum honors the contributions of the state’s diverse cultural groups, such as the French, Native Americans, and Africans. The museum is divided into three specific areas. The Barn features farming equipment and tools. The Working Plantation boasts several 19th century buildings such as an overseer’s house and slave cabins.
