Columbus Zoo & Aquarium

Located in Powell, Ohio just north of Columbus, the Columbus Zoo & Aquarium was named America’s top zoo by USA Travel Guide in 2009. There are more than 5,000 animals representing over 700 species at the zoo, which used to be overseen by animal guru Jack Hanna. The zoo divides its critters up by regions of the world. Ohio Theatre

The Ohio Theatre is an all-around performing arts center in Columbus, Ohio. The former movie palace from 1928 was saved from the wrecking ball in 1969 and given an extreme makeover. Now a National Historic Landmark, the Ohio Theatre is where you’ll find the Columbus Symphony Orchestra, BalletMet, the Broadway Series, Opera Columbus, and a summer movie series.  [top]

Ohio State House

The Ohio Statehouse is where the people’s business is done as well as a place to learn. Visitors are allowed to watch the lawmaking process take place in this prestigious seat of government for Ohio. Franklin Park Conservatory

Built in 1895, the Franklin Park Conservatory in Columbus, Ohio is a gorgeous botanical garden that’s listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Maumee River

The Maumee River flows through northwestern Ohio. Designated an Ohio State Scenic River in 1974, the river is very popular with anglers. Walleye is the most prevalent fish and it makes its debut every spring.
