Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument
Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument in southern Utah is comprised of three regions. They are the Grand Staircase, the Kaiparowits Plateau, and the Canyons of the Escalante. It received its National Monument status in 1996 under President Bill Clinton. At 1.9 million acres, the Monument is just a little bigger in area than the state of Delaware. [top]
Brian Head Ski Resort
Brian Head Ski Resort is located (not surprisingly) in Brian Head, Utah. Nestled in the southern Wasatch Range, it’s the highest ski resort in Utah. There are two mountain peaks and 540 acres for downhill and cross-country skiing and snowboarding. As for the terrain, one-fifth is for expert skiers, almost half is for intermediate skiers, and one third is for beginners. [top]
Bryce Canyon National Park
Located in southwestern Utah, Bryce Canyon National Park is a major destination for travelers from all around the world. The highlight is Bryce Canyon which, believe it or not, is not a canyon at all. It’s actually a very big natural amphitheater. Dinosaur National Monument
Dinosaur National Monument is located on the border between Utah and Colorado. While most of the monument is in Colorado, the dinosaur quarry is in Utah. And that’s where you’ll see such fossils as a nearly complete skull, lower jaws, and neck bones of a variety of long-neck, long-tail sauropods. Lagoon Amusement Park
Come to Lagoon Amusement Park in Farmington, Utah and you won’t be disappointed. Discover eight roller coasters, three of which will have your bones rattling the entire time. They are Colossus the Fire Dragon, a double looping coaster, The Bat, a junior suspended coaster, and Wicked, which is the biggest and fastest of the bunch.
