White House
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue is probably the most famous address in America. It’s the precise location of the White House, home of U.S. presidents for more than 200 years. Lincoln Memorial
Honoring Abraham Lincoln, the 16th President of the United States, the Lincoln Memorial is located on the National Mall in Washington, DC. It features a sculpture of Lincoln sitting plus inscriptions of two of his famous speeches. In 1963, it was the site where Martin Luther King gave his powerful "I Have a Dream" speech. Washington Monument
Completed in 1884, the WashingtonMonument stands as a tribute to America’s first president, George Washington and his military leadership. It weighs 81,120 tons and is over 555 feet tall. Ford's Theatre
Known as the place where President Abraham Lincoln was assassinated by John Wilkes Booth in 1865, Ford’s Theatre opened in downtown Washington, DC two years earlier. After the assassination, it closed its doors. It was purchased by the government in 1866. For nearly a century, it was a warehouse, a museum, and an office building. In 1968, the theatre was restored and continues to operate with first-rate productions. [top]

A public promenade, the National Mall in Washington, DC covers ground from 3rd Street near the Capitol to 14th Street.
