Washington Tourist Attraction

Seattle Center
A lot is happening at the Seattle Center, which is a fairground, park, and arts and entertainment center all rolled into one. The 74-acre site in Seattle, Washington features the International Fountain, the Space Needle, the Fisher Pavilion, the Fun Forest Amusement Park, and the Experience Music Project/Science Fiction Museum and Hall of Fame. University of Washington
Founded in 1861, the University of Washington (UW) is the largest university in the Northwest and one of the West Coast’s oldest. The university, which boasts three campuses, Seattle (the largest), Tacoma, and Bothell, offers bachelors, masters, and doctoral degrees through its 140 colleges and schools. In 2010, the Academic Ranking of World Universities placed the University of Washington 16th overall. [top]
Space Needle
Located at the Seattle Center, the Space Needle was constructed for the 1962 World’s Fair where it attracted more than 2 million visitors. The Space Needle is 605 feet high, 138 feet wide, and weighs more than 9,500 tons. At the time of its completion, it was the tallest structure west of the Mississippi River. [top]
Pike Place Market
Great local merchandise of all sorts abounds at Pike Place Market in Seattle, Washington. This public market, which started in 1907, features fresh fish, organic produce, crafts, flowers, and antiques. There are several restaurants that are family owned and operated. Overlooking the waterfront, Pike Place Market is one of America’s oldest continually operated farmers' markets. [top]
Woodland Park Zoo
You’ll be impressed with the goings-on at Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle, Washington. There are more than 1,000 animals representing 300 species. In addition, there are 35 endangered and five threatened animal species that the zoo cares for.
