Dedicated to the preservation of all things Yukon, the McBride Museum of Yukon History is named for Bill McBride, a co-founder of the Yukon Historical Society, an organization that was serious about letting future generations know about their storied past. McBride was responsible for the many books, photographs, and artifacts in the museum's collections. Takhini Hot Springs

Frantic Follies is a fantastic, frenetic, and funny vaudeville revue that has been making modern audiences convulse with laughter for more than four decades. More than one million people have seen the Frantic Follies, which runs from mid-May through mid-September in Whitehorse, Yukon Territory.  [top]

Chilkoot Trail

The Chilkoot Trail is a 33-mile trail through the Coast Mountains that leads from Alaska to British Columbia. It was a major access route from the coast to the Yukon goldfields in the late 1890s. In 1998, the centennial of the gold rush, the Chilkoot Trail National Historic Site in British Columbia, joined the United States Park Service to create the Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park. Today, the Chilkoot Trail is a popular recreational trail for outdoor lovers living in Southeast Alaska and the Yukon Territory.  [top]

Fort Selkirk Historic Site

The former home of the Selkirk First Nation, Fort Selkirk became a trading post on the Yukon River in the mid-1850s. The post was destroyed and then rebuilt in the late-1890s when it became a major supply point. It was abandoned in the 1950s with the advent of the Klondike Highway, which bypassed the river. Many of the buildings were restored and today the Fort Selkirk Historic Site is a bustling tourist attraction that’s owned and managed by both the Selkirk First Nation and the Yukon Government's Department of Tourism and Culture.  [top]

The Klondike Institute of Art & Culture (KIAC) in Whitehorse, Yukon Territory offers a wide range of continuing education and professional development programs.
